He loves to play with the fosters little beagle. He would do well in a home with or without other animals. Rocky is very well behaved and knows his manners. He usually waits at the door when he has to go potty or wants to go outside and investigate. He does a excellent job in keeping his crate clean when they are gone, and has not had any accidents indoors. He is quiet in his crate and will curl up take a nap, or play with his toys. In the past few days Rocky has started to play with toys. He never knew what a toy was before and didn't know what to do with them. Rocky has built up his confidence and become a happier dog because of it. He even likes to play ball now! Update: Rocky is a champion kisser! he loves to give kisses and hugs to his favorite people. He is incredibly affectionate and will make someone very happy and proud to own him. He has a charming personality and a big smile that a heart cannot resist. He is very gentle when he takes food from your hand. He also has just learned the command down. He is food motivated and learns very fast. Update From The Foster:Note from the Foster: Rocket is an adorable 1-2 year old Husky/Pit Bull terrier mix. He is a big sweetheart who loves to cuddle and stay close to your side. Rocket is good with other dogs (both male and female) and he is great around kids. He is very gentle and respectful. Rocket is a bit timid and shy at first but warms up fairly quickly. However, he can be a bit more shy around men (usually taller and larger ones), depending upon the situation. He sleeps in his crate at night without a fuss and does a good job at keeping his space in order. Rocket is very well housetrained, and will let you know when he has to go out. Rocket knows Sit, Down, Kennel Up, and also responds to his name. He is a very quick study, and does very well when learning new things. Rocket is a pretty mellow guy. His favorite things to do are to snuggle by your side, play with his toys, enjoy a nice butt-scratch, or take luxurious long naps. He has a huge heart with a lot of love to give. Rocket does need a kind and patient owner to continue his socialization with strangers, as he is still shy and timid around new people. But other than that, Rocket is just a big love bug! UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER: 11/22/14 Rocket has been my foster dog for over 2 months now and he has really become a social butterfly (for lack of better words). He has definitely gotten comfortable with everyone in the family. Rocky has learned that my two younger brothers (ages 8 and 10) make wonderful playmates and he enjoys spending time with them. He also realized that my mom makes a wonderful snuggle buddy, and it is easy to see that Rocket and my mom have formed a special bond with one another. He gives her lots of kisses and plenty of love. He has also made another dramatic change, as to when he first came into our foster care. Rocket was very shy around my dad, but now he follows him around the kitchen and asks to be petted! This is a very big deal because he has almost completely overcome his fear of my dad (and hopefully other men!). He will probably continue to be shy around strangers at first, but after some time, he will warm up. Rocket has been doing very well at working on these things, and whenever we have visitors he is attempting to interact with them, and will also ask to be petted. Rocket has really become great friends with our two existing dogs: particularly our 12 year old male. He has done excellent with the several other dogs he has met and absolutely loves to play with them. I would definitely say that Rocket would do wonderful in a home with a doggy-companion.
